I stumbled upon this site by chance. I went to Eton and I didn’t particularly enjoy it- I came from a farming family and found it pretty hard to adjust if truth be told. However it is a brilliant school and for those lucky enough to go there gives you the chance to do absolutely anything- from acting to painting to sport to academics. Why people always have to go on about class is incredibly boring. Stop complaining and do something about it. There is absolutely nothing stopping somebody from the state sector becoming prime minister. It has been done before and it can be done again. Etonians and other privately educated people have advantages through their amassed contacts and great education but there are obvious disadvantages in that they have perhaps learned less about real life than somebody from a poorer background and will not have that same connection with the general public. Those who are state educated are faced perhaps with larger obstacles but one needs to embrace what he has and not complain. We don’t start life on a level playing field but there are chances for everybody- if nothing else the Olympics has shown that.

The main thing that going to Eton provided was the extraordinary environment, the history of the place. It makes one aspire to do great things. Those who are less well off need to see that they can have the same aspirations and they can do anything as well even if they really wanted to, attend Eton. It obviously requires a bit of hard work though!

To be honest I don’t think Cameron is great but if nothing else he is a leader and is currently the best man for the job (in my opinion). I am not saying that all his decisions have been correct, far from it.
