Money can’t buy you social media kudos

Would you buy a used donut from this man?

Looking at the google ads on reformparliament.co.uk just now, I noticed a paid ad, headed:

Labour’s electoral fiddle
Eric Pickles explains how Labour wants to change how you vote

This led to a video on the Cons’  YouTube channel, entitled: ‘Eric Pickles looks at why Labour want to change the voting system’

Directly underneath the clip is the comment, from kavanaghchris: ‘Can he not be honest? In that election, Labour got 9,563,097, and the Conservatives got 8,769,755 (the Liberal Democrats got? 5,981,874). He’s using a subset of the figures (English votes only) without saying so, and that is very very dishonest….’

Another comment, from JoeBLOG5: What A Pickle Pickles has got himself into?
Did you see him at the start waddling up that Con corridor showing off his podgy paunch?
Mind you, he does have a real sense of colour-coordinated style.
He’s wearing all our favourite political colour – BROWN!!!
Well Done Pickles!

So the Tories are paying Google large wads of their  banker chums’ cash to run Adsense ads for their YouTube clips.  This isn’t web 2.0. It’s advertising. And when they use social media, such as youtube, they get a trouncing.

They just don’t understand that you can’t buy people, or support, on social media. You have to work for it. And you have to have integrity to gain trust. Integrity? Trust? Tories? lol.
